William Bennekemper, Jr. was born on January 19, 1926.
According to the 1940 Census William Bennekemper, Jr. was living on 151 Jefferson Ave. River Edge, NJ with his Father William Sr., Mother Margaret and Brother Ralph W. Bennekemper.
River Edge attended Hackensack High School at this time.

“He served his country with honor as an ROTC graduate from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH on June 29, 1946, and was commissioned as a Naval Officer, LT JG. He was on Active Duty from March 1, 1944 and served in the South Pacific during the Korean War from July 1952 to
June 1954.”
Three family members William Bennekemper, Sr., and his two sons Ralph W, Bennekemper and William Bennekemper, Jr., all three served in different conflicts.
